The malicious bots which have been harassing the ISFDB site took a vacation last week, but they are back as of Monday (2026-11-02) morning. The current wave apparently consists of a mix of "dumb" bots and "smart" bots. We can protect the site against "dumb" bots, but "smart" bots are harder to defend against. Response times are likely to remain spiky-to-bad until the issue is resolved.
